We have won an eight-way tender to design the first temporary exhibition at The Postal Museum in London. We presented together with long-time collaborator Nick Coombe Architecture. The exhibition will tell the story of the SS Gairsoppa that was torpedoed during World War II carrying crucial supplies from India to the UK. On board were thousands of silver bars, tea and bundles of mail. The contents of this cargo were salvaged in 2011 in one of the deepest operations in history. The Postal Museum curation will focus on the contents of the letters written in the lead up to Christmas 1940 that were never received by their intended recipients and can now be read for the first time 77 years later. NCA will be responsible for 3D design, we will provide 2D design and together we will collaborate on interaction design and lighting.
